Cultivating Planetary Consciousness:

A Collective Study Guide

A NOTE ON THIS COLLECTIVE STUDY GUIDE:

This guide speaks to us—whoever we are when we gather to engage in transformative practice. Not to a leader who takes others through it. Not to an instructor who will teach it. To us, the collective, doing this work individually AND together.

You might be a reading group, an organization exploring new ways to develop leadership capacities, a liberatory learning environment, colleagues questioning the status quo, friends seeking deeper connection, strangers becoming kin, or an individual seeking positive change. Whoever we are: this is ours. The guide offers structure, not strict rules. Invitations, not instructions. We adapt it to our context, our time, our needs, our languages, our bodies. We skip what doesn’t serve us. We linger where we need to stay. We add what’s missing. We make it ours. Some of us may take turns holding space and facilitating particular sessions. That’s not the same as being “the leader”—it’s offering a gift of preparation and attention that rotates among us. Guidance for those holding sessions lives in the appendices, not the body of the guide.

One more thing: this guide takes a position. It says that we are fundamentally interconnected—with each other, with all living beings, with the planet—and that much of what we’ve been taught and conditioned to believe obscures this truth. It says that cultivating planetary consciousness is not optional idealism but an urgent necessity. If you’re looking for a neutral exploration of whether oneness is “real,” this collective study guide is not it. We’re here because we already sense that separation is an illusion, and we want to live otherwise.
